Here’s a short write up for something I recently discovered during my endeavors to modify these buckets to accept a Hellcat Walbro 525 fuel pump.

These fuel modules (or buckets/hangers) are sometimes modified to accept, usually, the Deatschwerks DW300c fuel pump and more recently, the Walbro 525 pump. I typically just start from scratch with a brand new bucket, so that everything is nice and new when installing these. Well, after doing this for someone who wanted a Walbro 525 in their 13+ SHO, I discovered that the fuel buckets are 100% identical, except for one small detail…the fuel level switch.

The issue is, for some reason, the SHO one is so freakin expensive, like, over $350. The one for the Explorer Sport is only around $200.

The prices above are from Tasca and can be bought cheaper elsewhere, but the buckets, relative to each other, are still widely priced differently.

What’s the answer? Easy! Just as the video shows, simply buy yourself the Explorer one, do what you need to do, then just reuse your old level switch (this assumes your old one works..if it doesn’t…you’re SOL).

Anyway, hope that helps you folks save a bit of money! Good luck!
